My Menopause Journey
Somewhere between “What is happening to me?” and “Oh good, it’s not just me,” Menopause with Friends was born.
Like so many women, I reached menopause feeling like I'd lost the woman I used to know. Between the hot flashes, brain fog, sleepless nights, and a changing body, I realized what I needed most wasn't another list of symptoms, it was friendship, grace, and a reason to laugh again.
I created Menopause with Friends because menopause can leave us wondering what on earth happened to the woman we used to know. I wanted a place with a little less doom and gloom and a lot more friendship, grace, honesty, and laughter.
I don't have all the answers, but I believe there's something powerful about women sharing their stories, laughing at the things we can't control, and reminding each other that we're not walking through this alone.
And somewhere along the way, a flock of menopausal chickens showed up.
What started as a little humour about my own menopause experience somehow turned into a flock.
I wanted each hen to capture one of those “you have got to be kidding me” parts of menopause — the itching, bloating, brain fog, sleepless nights, hot flashes, mood swings, and general feeling that your body has stopped consulting you before making decisions.
I wrote their personalities, sketched out the characters using visual references, and brought them to life digitally, each one with her own little piece of the menopause story.
And then there’s Rooster Doodle Do…
He may not be going through menopause, but he’s definitely going through it with them.
The question is, do you have a Rooster or a Farmer by your side?

Why Menopause with Friends?
Menopause can be messy, confusing, frustrating — and sometimes downright funny.
I created Menopause with Friends because I wanted a place where women could talk honestly about all of it. Not just the symptoms, but the changing relationships, confidence, bodies, families, friendships, and the question many of us quietly ask:
“Who am I now?”
I don’t have all the answers. But I do believe we’re better when we share what we’re learning, laugh whenever we can, and remind each other that this chapter still has a whole lot of life left in it.
Grace for today. Hope for tomorrow. Friends for the journey.
